Maplewood Condominium Association has a comprehensive condo-wide pest prevention and eradication program. This plan includes exterior applications for the control of general pests, carpenter ants, and termites, as well as interior applications for the control of general pests, carpenter ants, rodents, and termites. Every unit is covered completely under this plan (inside/outside) for any type of pest and without limit or additional cost. When selling your condo unit, pest inspection reports for termites and carpenter ants are up to date and treatment is covered if termites, or otherwise, are discovered.

The Association schedules two (2) annual exterior sprayings to control for pests. Thereafter, the sprayings are on an as needed basis, without limit or additional cost, and can be targeted for specific outbreaks. The Association also schedules one (1) interior baseboard application, and at such time, inspections for termites and rodents are also accomplished. Every unit is furthermore covered for any type of interior outbreak or infestation with regards to treatment and eradication. Owner participation and cooperation of this program is mandatory, otherwise it cannot be effective at controlling and eradicating pests that cause infestations, disease, and structural damage.

PEST CONTROL PLAN INCLUSIONS

General Pests	Ants: Windowsill, pavement, citronella, carpenter. Wood-boring bees, nested bees/wasps/hornets, spiders, millipedes, centipedes, silverfish, earwigs, box elder, moths, ladybugs, pillbox, roaches, fleas, ticks, bird lice
Rodents	Mice, rats, voles.
Termites	Anywhere on premises (inside or outside a unit)
Exclusions	Destruction of wildlife animals such as squirrels, chipmunks, skunks, bats, opossum, raccoon. Wood-boring beetles. Flying insects (mosquitoes, etc.,).

EXTERIOR APPLICATIONS

Outdoor spraying is twice yearly and does not harm perennials. Doors, windows, and a/c units are shut off temporarily. Children and pets are kept inside for at least 2 hours after treatment is completed.

INTERIOR APPLICATIONS & INSPECTIONS

• Indoor baseboard applications for general pests are quickly applied, non-toxic, non-staining, and dry in 20 minutes.
• Non-chemical traps are set wherever necessary for rodent problems and inspected accordingly.
• Termite inspections of all units are mandatory (leave your house key with a neighbor if you cannot be present during inspections).

ADVANCE NOTIFICATION

Owners will receive advance notification for scheduled pest control, along with any instructions. Owners can request an MSDS (material safety data sheet) from our pest control contractor.

REPORTING A PEST PROBLEM

• Our pest control contractor will service as needed if an owner is experiencing pest problems. It can be an acute infestation or confirmed, inside of the unit or out.
• Our pest control contractor will tailor exterminations to contain/eliminate a pest problem without indiscriminate use of chemicals and at minimum disturbance to an owner.
• There are no additional costs to owners or to the Association for repeated service.
• Report pest problems to Council.
